Rivian R1T & R1S Delivery Delays Cause Frustration Among Pre-Order Customers

We have all been waiting for the Rivian R1T and R1S for a long time now, but recent news has revealed that the delivery window for the Launch Edition models is now July - September 2022. This is disappointing news for many of us who pre-ordered in 2018 or 2019, as we were expecting to receive our vehicles much sooner.

It appears that Canada will be receiving their deliveries last, with the US having priority. The same goes for the R1S Launch Edition, which has a delivery window of May - June 2022. As expected, this has caused some frustration among those who are still waiting on their orders.

The wait times vary depending on location, configuration, and order date. Some people ordered as early as December 2018 and have an expected delivery window between June and September 2022. Others have placed orders more recently and are looking at a 2023 delivery window.

It's not just the R1T and R1S either; Ford F-150 Lightning orders are also backlogged due to production capacity being limited to 15k models initially. With orders already into the 6 figure range, it looks like many people won't be getting their Lightnings anytime soon either.

Rivian has had multiple delays in production and deliveries since they committed to producing the R1T/R1S, so there's no telling when we'll actually see these vehicles on the road. It doesn't help that other electric vehicle manufacturers are entering the market, making it difficult for Rivian to stay ahead of the competition.

At this point, all we can do is continue to wait patiently until our orders arrive. Many of us have been waiting for years now and there's no guarantee that our vehicles will arrive any sooner than projected. We can only hope that Rivian sticks to their timeline and delivers on their promises in the near future.
