Rivian R1S Delays Expected - Expect More Accurate Delivery Dates Soon

It is exciting news that Rivian has begun producing R1S vehicles and many pre-order holders are getting ready for their delivery. However, due to the updates and moving parts, it appears that the earliest non-employee deliveries will begin towards the end of May 2021. This means that some pre-order holders may have to wait a little longer for their delivery window to be refreshed with more accurate timing in the coming weeks.
The process of reserving an R1S was made available as early as December 2018, and since then there have been approximately 55,400 R1T and R1S preorders. The order number can be found by logging into the Rivian account and clicking on “following”. Although this used to be a way to reverse engineer an order number, it is no longer relevant as they are not going in order of preorder but rather targeting markets, similar vehicle configurations, etc.
Signing the preliminary sales agreement is another step closer to receiving the R1S. Some customers have also inquired about getting an extra set of rims for winter and this is something that can be worked out through the Rivian store. Furthermore, customers should plan ahead and get started on having a wall charger installed in their garage as soon as possible.
For those who were hoping for earlier delivery dates, unfortunately further delays are expected with new dates being released soon. With so much anticipation surrounding the production of the R1S, hopefully these delays won't last too long and everyone will receive their vehicle soon!
In the meantime, Rivian has been releasing updates on their website and social media channels to keep customers informed. They have also released a new app that allows users to track their vehicle's progress from production all the way through delivery. This is great news for those who are eager to get behind the wheel of an R1S as soon as possible!
Rivian has also announced that they will be offering free home charging installation with every purchase of an R1S or R1T. This means that customers can save money by not having to pay for professional installation services and instead do it themselves in just a few simple steps.
The wait may seem long but there is light at the end of this tunnel! With Rivian continuing its production efforts, pre-order holders should expect more accurate delivery dates in the coming weeks which could mean deliveries are imminent!
