Got a Delivery Offer Today, but...

Today I received an offer from a Guide regarding the delivery of my vehicle. The offer was for a black interior instead of Ocean Cost, and they indicated that this vehicle would be available “immediately”. However, if I don't accept the offer, they are still aiming to deliver my OC vehicle by the end of April as promised.

It's such a personal decision! I personally wouldn't take one with Ocean Coast if the offer were reversed. On one hand, changing to a black interior might offset temperature and cleaning concerns due to having a German Shepherd. On the other hand, black interiors can get hot in summertime Texas heat.

I'm not going to switch exterior or interior colors, wheel size, etc., just because that's what they have "on the lot". I've done that too many times with too many other vehicles and this time I've spent a lot of time and thought choosing exactly what I want.

I'm open on some things; however, certain exterior colors aren't something I'd be interested in. If Ocean Coast had an option for a black headliner, it would have been my first choice. My model S has black interior with pano sunroof and I don’t find it to be a problem in any climate conditions.

For me, no compromises - I'm not going to switch exterior or interior colors, or wheel size, etc. just because that's what they have "on the lot". When paying this much for a new car, I want exactly what I ordered so I am waiting for my April-May delivery.

Others suggest getting tinted with an infrared rejecting tint which could make a huge difference in terms of how the car feels and also cut down on how hard the a/c has to work big time - saving energy (and miles) to boot.

In conclusion, when ordering a new car, it is important to get exactly what you wanted and paid for. While there may be offers available for immediate delivery, it is best to wait until your desired configuration becomes available.

What is the offer I received today?

You received an offer from a Guide indicating that a vehicle matching your configuration was available "immediately" if you were willing to change to a black interior instead of Ocean Cost. Otherwise, you were told that they were still aiming to deliver your OC vehicle by the end of April as promised.

What should I consider when making my decision?

Consider factors such as personal taste, exterior and interior colors, wheel size, climate conditions, and whether or not you are willing to make compromises. Additionally, be aware that there may be a 6 month wait for an OC interior.

Is Black Mountain really black?

No, it is actually a dark gray, probably around #444 or #333.

Is it possible to get the car tinted with an infrared rejecting tint?

Yes, this is possible and can help reduce the temperature inside the car and reduce how hard the air conditioning has to work.

Are other people in the same situation as me?

Yes, there are other people who have pre-ordered their vehicles in April 2019 and are still waiting for delivery.

What can I do to make sure I get my car as soon as possible?

You can contact your Guide and ask for an update on the delivery status. You can also check online forums and social media groups to see if other people have received their vehicles. Additionally, you can look into aftermarket options that may be available to customize your vehicle.

Is there anything else I should know?

Yes, it is important to remember that the delivery date is an estimate and that delays are common in the auto industry. It is also important to consider any additional costs associated with changing the interior color or adding aftermarket parts. Finally, be sure to read all of the terms and conditions associated with your purchase before making a decision.
