Rivian Fans, rejoice! On June 1st, one lucky fan picked up his Launch Green R1T from Atlanta. After testing negative for COVID-19, the fan and his family made the two hour drive to Atlanta for a 12:30 appointment. When they arrived at Top Golf driving range, their delivery guy Chad was already there with the R1T. The fan was ecstatic to see it in person and couldn't contain his excitement as he waved madly when Chad pulled up.
The fan had pre-ordered back in November 2019 with an estimated delivery date of 2nd half 2023. But after seeing the email that if you changed your configuration to what was in production you could get delivery sooner, the fan jumped on the opportunity and changed his battery, interior color, and exterior color. This cost him an additional $10k but luckily he got assigned a Rivian guide who reserved him a Launch Green R1T with Adventure Pack and 20" off-road wheels.
Since receiving the car, the fan has been enjoying its nice smooth ride and comfortable seats. He does not like however that there are no service centers or fast chargers near Tennessee which will require more planning and time for trips. The good news is that there is a new Atlanta service center opening this week located at 2333 Defoe Hills Rd NW, Atlanta GA 30318. His delivery guy said they were scheduled to open this month so hopefully everyone else can take advantage of this soon too!

My favorite thing about the R1T so far is the nice smooth ride, very comfortable seats, and flexibility.
Have you received a delivery date from Rivian yet?
Yes, I was originally projected for a delivery in the second half of 2023. However, by changing my configuration to what was in production, I was able to get delivery sooner.
Is there an Atlanta service center?
Yes, there is a new Atlanta service center that opened this week at 2333 Defoe Hills Rd NW, Atlanta GA 30318. The old one is on Chattahoochee but they don't do anything there.
What kind of features does the R1T have?
The R1T has a range of up to 400 miles, four-wheel drive, and a 0-60 time of 3 seconds. It also has an adaptive air suspension, a panoramic glass roof, and a 15.6 inch touchscreen infotainment system.
How much did you pay for your R1T?
I paid $75,000 for my Launch Green R1T with the Adventure Package.
Are there any other Rivian models available?
Yes, there is also the R1S SUV which is similar to the R1T but with more cargo space and seating for seven passengers.
