The event includes a test drive, where you can get behind the wheel of the truck and explore its capabilities.
I recently attended this event with my wife and brother. We had an amazing time! The specialist was very knowledgeable and patient, answering all our questions. He let us take turns driving the truck and pushing it to its limits. It was great getting to experience what it’s like to be behind the wheel of the Rivian vehicle.
The truck looks bigger than I expected, but thankfully it still fits into our garage just fine. There were a few things that we weren’t sure about, such as limiting how much the frunk opens, which hopefully will be addressed in a software update soon. My wife also had difficulty reaching the pedals comfortably, although she isn’t particularly short (she’s 5'4"). Hopefully this issue won’t be present for others who attend the mobile drive.
Overall, we really enjoyed our experience at the First Mile Mobile Drive event and would highly recommend attending one if you are able to do so! The power tonneau feature may not be reliable enough yet, but other than that, the quality of the vehicle seems superior to Tesla vehicles. If you have ordered your own Rivian vehicle, keep an eye out for your VIN number; some people have already received theirs even though they ordered after me!

Is there a limit on how many guests can attend the drive?
Yes, only three adults are allowed in total for the drive.
What is the experience like during the test drive?
The specialist is very patient and knowledgeable, and will answer all questions. You will be able to test drive, push it, etc. The truck looks bigger than expected but still fits in most garages. Some features may require software updates.
How did you get your delivery moved up?
My configuration was a common one being built, so it was able to be fulfilled faster. I was able to get an earlier delivery date by speaking with the customer service team.
What is the best way to prepare for the drive?
Make sure you have a valid driver's license and proof of insurance. Bring a pen and paper to take notes, and wear comfortable shoes. Have your questions ready so you can make the most of your time.
Is there anything else I should know before attending?
Yes, please arrive 15 minutes early to check in and sign any necessary paperwork. Also, be sure to bring a face mask or face covering as it is required for all attendees.
