Enjoy Your Home Delivery Experience with Rivian and the R1T Electric Truck
R1T is a great truck that I recently received. The home delivery was a great experience and the technician showed me the car wash mode, which didn't work as expected. Additionally, the seat settings options were not saved and an error message indicated that this issue would need to be resolved by a service technician. After resetting the windows, the car wash mode worked correctly. However, the seat settings issue still remained and required a mobile service visit. The engineer plugged his laptop into my truck to reset the seats and since then, everything has been working correctly. Unfortunately, this can only be done by Rivian and it appears that the last software update added the service needed message.
Overall, I am very pleased with my R1T and the customer service provided by Rivian. The home delivery was a great experience and the technician was very knowledgeable about all of the features of the truck. Although there were some small issues upon delivery, they were quickly resolved with help from Rivian's customer service team. The car wash mode works perfectly now and the seat settings are also saved correctly. I would definitely recommend Rivian to anyone looking for an electric vehicle!
What happened when I received my R1T?
Upon delivery, you experienced a couple of small issues with car wash mode and saving seat/steering settings. The windows were supposed to roll up in car wash mode but did not. Additionally, the truck indicated that the seat settings options were not available until the truck was serviced.
How did I resolve the car wash mode issue?
To reset a window, hold the down button for 5 seconds and then the up button for 5 seconds. You need to use the button on the door of the window, not the buttons on the driver door (except for the driver side window). This should resolve the car wash mode issue.
How do I save seat/steering settings?
Unfortunately, this can only be done by Rivian. Set up a service appointment and have a mobile service engineer plug their laptop into your truck to reset the seats. It should work correctly after that.
